El Monteón

El Monteón, Nayarit, Mexico – 2019. I was a team member for a Habitat for Humanity Mexico project in a small Town called El Monteón just a few miles from the tourist town of Rincón de Guayabitos in the state of Nayarit, north of Puerto Vallarta. El Monteón is a small village with a population of 1,800 who are involved in fishing, farming (corn & pineapples) and brick making. It is in the Mexican State of Nayarit which is in the west of Mexico, bordering the Pacific Ocean. Because El Monteón is several kilometers from the ocean it has not attracted the tourists like the nearby beach towns of Guayabitos and La Peñita.
